  Animals for Food

Factory Farming
Factory farming is an attitude that regards animals and the natural world merely as commodities to be exploited for profit.

In animal agriculture, this attitude has led to institutionalized animal cruelty, massive environmental destruction and resource depletion, and animal and human health risks.

Farm Sanctuary
Most farmed animals are raised on factory "farms," where they spend their entire lives in cages or crates so small that they can not even turn around. Farmed animals are not protected from cruelty under the law. In fact, the majority of state anti-cruelty laws specifically exempt farm animals from basic humane protection — so abandoning a sick animal on a pile of dead animals is considered “normal animal agricultural” practice.

Ban Cruel Farms

Animals exploited for meat, milk and eggs are increasingly subjected to inexcusable abuse on industrialized farms. Cattle, pigs, chickens and other animals are genetically altered, crowded and confined in cages where they can barely move, and subjected to cruel mutilations, harsh handling, and inhumane slaughter. Please join Farm Sanctuary and help prevent cruel and irresponsible factory farming practices.

Poultry Farming
The animals aren't the only ones to suffer from this industry, the workers, you, the consumer and the planet suffer. Find out more, but beware, knowledge may require change.

Dr. Harris
Animal source food is adaptive when there's not enough food, but in a
world with abundant and diverse plant foods, animal source food is
obsolete and only causes problems. - William Harris, M.D.
Dr. Harris explains the "Scientific Basis for Vegetarianism"

  • Where are the nutrients essential to humans synthesized?
  • What were the dietary patterns of humanity's remote ancestors?
  • Is the "Basic Four Food Group" scheme science or advertising?
  • What about animal protein, fat, and cholesterol?
  • What are the economic forces that drive American agriculture and its nutritional teachings?
  • How can the U.S. government hope to reform health care while it's still price-supporting the foods that make people sick?

Dr. Esselstyn
Becoming heartattack proof!  Since 1985 Dr. Esselstyn has conducted the longest running study which proves that heart disease can be arrested or reversed by a low fat, plant-based diet.

There are plenty of quick fixes for heart disease -- surgery, drugs and other interventions -- which can provide relief for a period of time. Only one treatment has been proven the most effective to stop completely the progression of coronary heart disease: a low-fat, plant-based diet, coupled with cholesterol-lowering medication. Good health is your responsibility
You owe it to yourself, and your family, to find out what substances your bodies really need and in what form those substances should be in, in order to keep your body functioning as it was designed to function - in good health. If you don't, you run the risk of depriving your body of vital nutrients and eventual bodily disfunction.  No one else is going to do this for you, not even those in the medical profession.  It's your body, you have to live in it.
